"Guys this cover up is from Anthopologie" - Krabi New Year Vacation!

I don't know how to even begin explaining how great my trip for the New Year was... lets just say when I arrived back home last night I almost cried and the depression has now set in. I am familiar with this post travel depression and I do not like it one bit.

We started our trip on December 27th... just a short bus ride to BKK, a BTS ride to MoChit, a moped ride to the bus station, and then a 12 hour overnight bus to Krabi where we waited for another bus to take us to our hostel. All in all it was about 17 hours of travel time and we arrived extremely tired and cranky but naps were not to be had because we had a full day of sunshine ahead of us.

Dec 28th -

Tired from our travels we headed off for real food, coffee, and to explore Ao Nang. Everyone else (minus Hend) joined us as the day went on and we had a pretty chill day as we were all traveled out. Alex got a massage while Nichole and I got our nails done (FINALLY- first world problems I know).

Ao Nang - Krabi

Dec 29th -

Hend finally arrived! We gave her a little time to put her stuff in the hostel and get changed, and then we headed down to the beach to grab a boat to Railey for the day.

Once we got to Railey we split into groups. The crazy cliff climbers and the relaxing cool kayakers. As I'm afraid of heights there was no way I was climbing any rocks. Hend, Melissa, and I rented two kayaks and after a snack, and a coconut for Hend, we headed off to explore. We took turns being a single kayaker and my turn lead to being stuck on a rock with a broken toe nail. Railey is simply beautiful and it was a great way to see the beaches, caves, and rocks.

Photo shoots and plenty of laughs later we returned to the main beach to our smiling kayak guy with his annoying whistle. We order beers and after a few bottles the others joined and we headed off to find Mama's Chicken (or kitchen... who knows) which was "just at the end of the beach." Yeah, right! At the end of the beach and up some rocks, and then down the other side we made it to Tonsai Beach. Conversations while climbing by our iPhone lights will never get old and I will never live down "guys this coverup is from anthroplogie" and the famous "ray if we were friends on Facebook I would delete you right now" and "Ray I am going to add you on Facebook just so I can delete you as a friend" and "this chicken better be worth it!" The chicken was definitely worth it. BBQ chicken, a potato, and corn (sorry I didn't share much of it Hend).

Melissa taking a break.

The cool kids.

Photo shoot - yeh we are cool.

The group after our kayaking and cliff climbing day!

Chickennnnnn - worth it!

Dec 30th -

A lazy day on Poda Island - tanning, swimming, and watching the girls reenact some Destiny Child's photo shoots. After a long day of enjoying the beautiful island and catching the sun shine we all ended up getting massages from the place next to our hostel. I am pretty sure they had to call in extra people for this booking of 8. Was a great day to end our "busy" day.

The group!

Getting comfy.

The only problem with my water proof camera - these spots!

Dec 31st -

An island and snorkeling tour on the last day of 2013 is how we ended our Krabi stay. We started the day at 8.30 am and made the guy mad because we made him wait for 5 minutes - no sense of humor and clearly not a morning person! Our tour started with a stop just around the corner from Railey at the beach Hend, Melissa, and I relaxed on while kayaking. After that we headed to Chicken Island where we snorkeled and had some lunch on the beach. Then we stopped at Tup Island for an hour and most of us took this hour as a great time to nap. After Tup we headed to Poda Island for an hour stop before heading back to Ao Nang.

After a day in the sun, island hoping, and boating around we decided a great way to end 2013 would be with 150 baht delicious pizzas, lazy time, and pre-drinks on the balcony. We didn't let our busy day stop up from celebrating. After pre-drinks on the balcony we headed down to the beach road to find some dancing, slap Ray with a prawn, and ring in the New Year with some buckets!

My New Year kiss.

Hend and I are really good at taking photos together...

Can you tell 8 people lived in here?
